We need your assistance to fund a trail master plan and design. This project will provide a non-motorized plan for critical recreation corridors that are a part of a larger planning to enhance wildlife habitat and protect wildlife travel paths to connect wildlife habitat in the Cle Elum River Corridor and the Teanaway Community Forest. This planning and design process will also tie regional trail networks together, connecting this trail plan into trails in the Suncadia Development, the Coal Mines Trail, Rat Pack Trail, and Iron Horse Trail systems.
Creating a recreational corridor to connect these communities to the Teanaway Community Forest is an important undertaking that will benefit the people and wildlife of the region for generations to come.
The planning and design portion of the project will cost approximately $70,000 and we are working with partners and applying for grant funds to cover the costs. We already have verbal commitment for approximately $45,000. Our team is working to raise the additional funding through a combination of requests from the local cities that will benefit from this project, the County, and donations from people like you. Your donations will go to the Economic Development Group of Kittitas County and are tax deductible.
Here is an update on our progress:
$20,000 secured from Suncadia Fund for Community Enhancement
$10,000 secured from the Western Conservation Project
$5,000 secured from the City of Cle Elum
We are contracting with a landscape design firm to complete the planning and design process, which is scheduled to begin on July 1, 2017.
We will be incredibly grateful for your contribution to this exciting project!
