END OF TOWN SHORT FILM

WHO:

My name is Dylan Hahn and I am a filmmaker set on creating films that provoke thought and transport people away from their day-to-day.

From the very beginning, I've worked mostly in the commercial world producing videos for businesses and organizations.

While I love capturing the heart of a company or articulating the vision of a non-profit, what makes me really tick is narrative film.

I'm not going to lie, I want to make movies one day, and I believe this project, once completed, will help push me toward that.

WHAT:

This is a film about a month in the life of a teenage kid in a run-down town who is trying to live a normal life but faces the heartbreaking loss of his brother. It's not hard to tell he is empty inside because of it. Though he may never be the same after what was lost, there comes a time in which he must choose to move on with his life or continue to bury himself in a self-induced misery. This is a story about dealing with loss and the difficult decision to continue living a fulfilling life. This is a struggle we will all face in our lifetime.

HOW:

On January 25th, 2018 we will begin production of this film in the town of Brunswick, Maryland. It will last 3 days and will be done with a team of local filmmakers and talent.

The Crew:

Elizabeth Coggins - CAMERA OP / AC (Camera System Wrangler / Red Button Pusher / Focus Puller)

TJ Morrison - AD / GRIP (Extended Hands of the Director / Set Builder / Make Happener)

Dylan Hahn - DIRECTOR / DP
(Mission Haver / Light Pointer / People Pleaser)

Austin Bridge - AUDIO SUPERVISOR
(Boom Operator / Sound Wizard / Headphone Wearer)

David Ehrenberg - GRIP / PA (Equipment Rigger / Production Assistant  / Helper In All Things)

Zachary Hahn - LOCAL FIXER (Mechanic / Driver / Fixer of All Things)

What this will be is a top-notch cinematic film, and the only way producing it is possible is through the resources we have already received through friends and family. But the bottom line is that good films cost money and we still need funding for this project to reach its full potential. All money raised will be used for the following.

Budget Breakdown:
- Camera and Lens Rental
- Lighting and Grip Rental
- Vehicle Rental
- Certificates of Insurance
- Various Production Expenses including:
     -travel costs
     -meals for crew
     -props

WHY:

Having total creative freedom over a piece like this will be somewhat of a first for me. This is a chance to make something that is exactly what I want it to be. Above a chance to create, I see this as a way to push forward the careers of those involved. If successful, this film will be seen online by many and placed in festivals.

Also, I did a lot of growing up in the location in which we will be shooting. My grandparents still live in Brunswick, MD, and getting to do what I love most in a town so close to me would be a dream.
