Sadly, CoVID put an end (at least for the time being) to that plan, however I still maintained the goal of raising some money, so instead I am doing what government guidelines currently allow me to - a bicycle tour around all 24 bowls clubs in my local area - Group 6 of Essex.
The route that I have planned encompasses just over 57 miles (92km), however I will include a few Group 9 clubs too in order to reach 100km!
Disability Bowls England appeals greatly to myself as a very worthwhile charity, as I know first hand that absolutely anyone can play our wonderful sport. They as an organisation first formed in 2004 have come a long way to the point where they now have their own High Performance Squad which will be linking up with the Bowls England Elite Squad ahead of the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. This event will see the biggest para sport programme in Commonwealth Games history and the bowls events will be a big part of this. Bodies like Disability Bowls England are reliant on donations in order to run as fully and as successfully as they would like to.
So please donate whatever you feel is appropriate, even if it doesn't seem like much it will all add up and make a big difference!
Thanks in advance, Ed
