Tough like Tate

Thank you for visiting Tough Like Tate's fundraising page. On Tuesday, March 15, 2022, while having fun with his family, Tate was involved in an ATV accident. He sustained a spinal cord injury causing complete paralysis of his legs. Thankfully, he does have some movement of his arms and hands, but the extent of his injuries is still unknown as Tate, a 3.5 year old boy, doesn't have the understanding of what is happening. Tate was wearing a helmet; it saved his life.

Tate has been very tough during his stay at the hospital.  Days of progress are unfortunately sometimes followed by a setback, which will often be the case during his recovery.  One thing remains certain though, Tate is a fighter.   He's always been one.  But he always follows a "swing" with a flash of his dimples to remind everyone he can also be the sweetest kid in the room.  While he's doing the best he can with so much out of his control, his positive attitude and infectious personality will be what gets him through this.  

 

A spinal cord injury like Tate's can cost a family over $500,000 for the first year and over $75,000 every year following. Worrying about how much Tate's care will cost is something his parents, Kyle and Meghan, should not have to think about. Your donation will ensure that both Kyle and Meghan can be with Tate as well as support his two brothers, Reece and Bo. It will help with Tate's medical bills, caregiving, travel and lodging, living expenses, medical equipment, and adaptions needed to bring Tate home. Most importantly, it will help Kyle and Meghan bring Tate to the best rehab facility in the country.

 

In the near future we will plan additional fundraising community events to help raise awareness to spinal cord injuries and support Tate and his family in his recovery, this information will be forthcoming.
