TOTO Fighting for her life

Toto is my four year old female Cairn Terrier. I've had her since she was a puppy and we are very bonded. Toto has the typical Cairn Terrier personality, to serve and protect! Since Toto and I moved in with my 80 year old mom in Hueneme Bay, Toto has been demonstrating her 'guard dog' personality by consistently letting us know there's someone on our porch......she seems to take great pride in her work to protect us! Last Monday I was in the back of our house when I heard Toto barking ferociously at the front door. I made the mistake of opening the door to see what she was barking at and she ran out of the house directly into the street and got hit by a car. We have lived with Mom for 10 months and Toto has never ran into the street like that. As it turns out, there were men working on the roofs across the street that got her all wound up. I yelled for her to stop then heard the impact. I retreated back into my house hysterically sobbing to my mother about what just happened to Toto. I could not bare to go see her dead on the street and I was pleading with my mom to go out and get her. Within about two minutes, Toto amazingly walked back into the house! She was looking at me and my mom and I will never forget the look on her face! Her expression was as if she was saying: It's all good, I handled it, you're safe. Then, she collapsed. Toto ended up at the Ventura pet emergency hospital, VMSG where she was diagnosed with massive internal injuries including a huge hernia of her digestive organs, broken ribs, broken pelvis, and sections of her colon and intestine were already necrotic and had to be removed. She also sustained neurological damage to the right side of her head from the major blunt force and may never be able to close her right eye again. I agreed to the surgery to repair the hernia and any other injury found during this surgery. She made it through the surgery and her post op critical care with a $11,370 bill. I brought her home three days ago and she wasn't recovering well, not eating and I couldn't get the ten medication pills in her system. So, little mighty Mo Toto is back in the hospital to have another surgery today. After the doctor told me that her internal organs broke through the internal incision area including her bladder and that this additional surgery would cost $10,000... I very sadly and reluctantly said: "Put her down". I told the doctor I didn't have the money for all these surgeries and medical care. The doctor talked to the VMSG corporate office and they agreed to do the second surgery and critical care with a cap of $3 000 instead of 10 ,000. I agreed to this to help save Totos life
I am seeking donations to help pay for Totos surgeries and care. I did not have pet insurance or money saved. It's just Toto and me living with my 80 year old mother. I've been looking for employment after losing the teaching job I had working for my SISTER who died from brain cancer a year ago. I've applied for more jobs in the past 6 months than I have in my entire life. I would be so very grateful for any amount anyone can donate to help pay Totos bills. THANK YOU
