ToTheMoon Project: Love Out Bags

To The Moon Project | Year 2
The To The Moon Project exists for two reasons.  To honor my wife's mother, Cheryle Anderson, who's heart, compassion, and generocity for those in need was larger than life.  She drove a school bus in Grants Pass, OR and would carry around little sandwich bags of toiletries, neccessities, and, of course, Dutch Bros Free Cards. When she saw a need, whether it be a child in poverty, the homeless on the street corner, or a lost teen in between homes, she would slide one of these bags of love their way. We lost Cheryle three years ago but we won't lose the love she taught us to show.  The second is to contine Cheryle's work by building personalized backpacks for at-risk kids, foster kids, or kids living in poverty. We have partnered with Joe's Place Ministries  in Grants Pass, Or who serve the youth of that community with hot meals, education, clothing, and a loving place to be mentored and shown how important they are, to distribute the "Love Out" bags. Each bag will be filled with essential clothing and hygiene items, as well as a couple of special items that can make an unknown situation a little more comfortable. When foster kids go to a new home or when the toiletries are long used and thrown away, I wanted something to remain that provides comfort and familiarity to each child. SackclothandAshes.com  have provided a special blanket to be put in each backpack and we will provide a journal and art supplies for a creative outlet to tell their story. Last year my goal was to deliver 60 "Love Out" bags to Joe's Place and because of so many people's genenocity, we were able to provide 100 as well as get a headstart on this year.  Every year on February 18th we hope to do the same and we need your help.  Every penny that we raise will go directly to fillling these bags and delivering them to kids in need on Cheryle's birthday... A gift to them, from her. I am expecting 60 but hoping for hundreds. Thank you for taking the time to read about this project and contribute as a community to an area that is dear to our heart. If you aren't able to donate, please help this cause with a like and a share. I can't wait to post updates on the impact we can have together as we show the kids of our community that they are loved to the moon and back. God bless each and every one of you.

Special thanks to Daniel Jeremiah, Daron Williams, and Bob Dalton.
