Greetings community;
We started the  SO((U))L Hq and Di Institute for Social Leadership on faith, love and hope.  Both spaces are an experiment in building community around music art culture, self-discovery and learning. Our vision is to create and sustain these spaces all over Jamaica and all over the world.

We believe in the value of what we have created and we know we need a community who knows and also believes in the passion and vision that lives in our work to support us.

The SO((U))L HQ
SO((U))L creates alternative community spaces for discussion exploration and discovery of the arts, culture, spirituality, music, creativity and the promotion of social justice, equality, self-reliance. The first of these spaces is located in Stony Hill, St.Andrew Jamaica and is called the Hq was started in 2011.

Some of the things we do include:
Art exhibitions
Discussions/Community Conversations
Theatre/Drama
Poetry
Music performances
Film screenings
Workshops
(ZANJRADIO broadcasts live on Weekends)

The Hq has also been developing into a "residential" incubator for artists. Individuals visiting the Hq on a Friday night may stay the entire weekend.  Working out project ideas, experimenting, or just building friendships and relationships. This is a very important aspect to the orginial vision of SO((U))L and we see how this community of artist and individuals can learn to find support for their work.

To support our operations
, we provide short-term rentals at the HQ on Airbnb

Di Institute for Social Leadership
Di Institute for Social Leadership(ISL) was started in December 2014 in Kingston Jamaica. It provides learning opportunities and social support services for Youth and Adults. Social Leadership is an idea that we have been exploring from our work with the SO((U))L HQ. Social Leadership means accepting  responsibility as individuals for actively creating communities which support the growth and development for all its members.

Our Programmes include:
Currently we operate a youth programme. 15-20 children between the ages of 6-16 come to Di Institute, Monday to Saturday. We host three classes; Drama/Theatre Arts, Reading and Technology.

As we develope Di Institute, the majority of the cost for operations has been borne by us. We have been able to get some support for our reading programme and we intend to seek partnerships and support for our other youth programmes. We have started the sale of books and would like to be able to more fully develop a community bookstore.

Help us keep going :)

Bless and Love
