I feel excited and privileged to work with the Church of the American Ceylon (CACM) as their Web Marketing Coordinator developing their marketing strategies and online content. In regards to my roles, I will be assisting in the development of creative content, blog posts, analyzing the audience engagement using marketing metrics, and strengthening the relationship CACM has with their contacts via the internet.
comdu.it is a Canadian network of diaspora change makers interested in sustainable development of vulnerable communities in war-affected, underdeveloped, rural, and remote regions of Sri Lanka, with an emphasis on the Northern and Eastern Provinces. Its mission is to help shift diaspora engagement from charity to sustainability, from aid to economic development, and from remittance to knowledge-based economy. (Check out and follow their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter page!)
My involvement with the Canadian Tamil Professionals Association (CTPA), and South Asian Autism Awareness Centre (SAAAC) has increased my experience in working with non-profit organizations. I’m excited to combine my skills and assets with the team at CACM and help pursue their needs in the social media and internet world.
With this being my third trip to Sri Lanka within the last two years, I’ve seen the development progress at a moderate speed since the ending to the 26-year civil war.
One of my biggest goals from this journey is to inspire others in the Tamil community to take this initiative next year and be a part of an incredible project that supports sustaining development in post-war Sri Lanka. comduit provides in an immense amount of support, which has helped prepare me for my journey to Sri Lanka and becoming an ambassador for the organization.
If you’d like to contribute and financially support this trip please visit my gofundme page! This amount goes towards funding the program in Sri Lanka and any other subsidiaries I’ll require during my stay. If you wish to support this initiative please reach out to me directly for more information on how you can help!
