Tori vs Crohn's; Mom vs Meningioma
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Tori. I am 17 years old, have severe Crohn’s disease, was losing a pound per day, and have spent 22 of the last 30 days in the hospital. My treatment plan is to be on an all-liquid diet for the next two to six months in order to heal my small intestine. My illness has not only been very hard on me and my family, it has also been very expensive. To keep busy during my long hospital stays and to help offset some of my family’s expenses, I have been making jewelry; you can see my work on Etsy under Chronic Crafty. Yes, my condition is chronic. I was diagnosed in the spring after being sick almost daily and losing twenty pounds. Even with medical help, I have been struggling to stay out of the hospital and live anything like a normal life. But I have hope. I am hoping to raise $10,000 to help cover the cost of my care, home health care aid, NG tubes, and travel to and from the hospital. My hope is that my parents do not have to go further in debt and I can be at home, feel fresh air on my face, and start taking steps toward that normal life. In addition to my Crohn’s disease, my family is also dealing with my mother’s health and medical expenses. In October, my mother had a Meningioma (brain tumor) mostly removed and then in May radiation to wipe out the remains. On August 6th, mom will return to the Cleveland Clinic to see how effective the radiation has been. We are strong, positive women with supportive people in our lives. Our talisman this summer has been Wonder Woman. We are strong, we have gifts, we have purpose. And we are doing battle. Thank you for considering donating to help with my - our - medical expenses.
