<div>Torie was finally starting her career as an anesthesiologist. Instead, on Tuesday March 25, Torie lost her 7-month battle with an aggressive stage 4 colorectal cancer.

<div>This isn’t the way it was supposed to go. Arjan is now planning his wife's celebration of life instead of the wedding they dreamed of having after she beat this disease.

<div>After 12 years of schooling, Victoria “Torie” Whitehead and her husband Arjan, had just graduated from medical school — two brilliant, compassionate young doctors finally ready to step into the careers they had spent nearly over a decade working toward. They should’ve been planning their future. Instead, they’ve spent the past 7 months in hospital rooms, oncology wards, and infusion chairs, fighting a cancer that would not slow down.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At just 34 years old, Torie was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer. Torie was dealt setback after setback. It was aggressive, unrelenting, and resistant to every treatment thrown at it—chemotherapy, targeted therapy, even a liver infusion pump that ultimately failed. She wasn’t a candidate for immunotherapy. Still, Torie faced it all with grace, grit, and a sense of humor that lifted everyone around her. Arjan never left her side and was with her until the very end.

</div>
<div>We are shattered.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We’re raising funds to support Arjan as he picks up the pieces after his wife's death—to help ease the burden of medical bills, living expenses, and funeral costs. Both Arjan and Torie haven’t been able to work full-time during this unimaginably hard time. What should have been the beginning of everything has become a goodbye far too soon.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you knew Torie, you know the light she brought into every room. If you didn’t, please know this: she was the kind of person who made you feel safe, seen, and loved within minutes. The kind of future doctor the world desperately needs more of.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please help us honor her life, support Arjan, and carry their love forward in any way you can.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every dollar matters. Every share helps.
</div>
<div>We are grateful for all your help!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>God bless all of you. Please pray for Arjan and her family.
