For the past 12 months I have embarked on a fulfilling and amazing partnership and friendship with Masiga Falouk. My friend Masiga is one of the most passionate, kind and honest person I know. In the town of Bugiri, Uganda there are many underprivileged children who deserve a home, an education and all the basic necessities most of us were fortunate to have growing up. 12 months ago, I set out to be apart of something more, do something more and give. So I started to do research and came across Masiga. Masiga was on his own, doing his best to support many children and care givers. I knew instantly after getting in contact with Masiga that his dream of wanting a permanent home for the children was the one I wanted to be apart of. Since then Masiga and I have purchased land, and have started to build from the foundation up, an orphanage for the children of what we now call Torah Ministries Uganda.
We have purchased supplies for education, and clothing. A few children has grown to now over 45 and growing. It has been a beautiful thing to see the growth of this orphanage. These children, like all growing boys and girls are still in need of clothing, educational supplies, food, and bedding. And the last push to finish the building, a literal roof over there head. I Naaman Maxey, am asking you to help these amazing children with me. When I started on this journey to be apart of something larger than me I did not expect to be as passionate about this project as I am now. As I talked to a few colleagues, friends and family I noticed more people wanted to help and be apart of this foundation. Let’s all come together and make a difference in these children’s lives in whatever way we can.
