topography of surprise


We are currently asking for donations to build our project Topography of Surprise.


Topography of Surprise is part of the 10 projects selected by the jury among 100 international applications to be part of the 7th edition of the Festival des Architectures Vives in Montpellier (France).


Topography of Surprise consists in an installation made by 2600 lavander bouquets, creating a floating topography, on the interior court of an XVIII century building, classified national monument.


The Festival des Architectures Vives annually invites teams of architects, landscape designers, urban planners and artists to design in situ interventions.

The Festival des Architectures Vives is an event that offers an open and dynamic picture of current architecture. It is organized by Champ Libre, an organization formed by architects and professionals with urban concerns who has the main goal to spread the culture of architecture to a large audience, from the uninitiated to the more informed. It takes place in the patrimonial core of Montpellier and staged prototypes, animations, themed tours and architectural experiments at different scales (object, building, street, and neighbourhood). The 7th edition of the festival will be held in the summer 2012, for 5 days, from June 13 to 17. An inauguration will take place June 12.
