Logan's Top Surgery

Hi, my name is Logan and I'm a transgender man who goes by he/him pronouns, currently living in Arkansas. I'm starting this fundraiser in order to ask for help affording top surgery, as I am currently a full time college student and recently got laid off from my job due to the global pandemic. I do art commissions on the side but I haven't received any income from that in months. At the rate that I'm able to set aside money for this, I'd only be able to afford surgery after several years of saving- but I can't wait that long. The longer I wait, the more my mental health declines due to intense gender dysphoria surrounding my chest. My psychiatrist is unwilling to write the letter to my insurance company that is required to get part of the cost covered, so I have to pay without the aid of insurance as well.  Getting this surgery done will greatly help my mental health and will allow me to live my life without the burden of the dysphoria and anxiety I have surrounding this issue. Living in Arkansas doesn't help when it comes to this anxiety, due to the widespread transphobia and homophobia in this state. Most of the people down here are unwilling to acknowledge my correct gender, much less help me in my transition.  This surgery would also allow me to stop binding, which has begun to affect my physical health. Binding for long periods of time due to work and college is not ideal, especially if I have to wait the several years it would take in order to save up for this on my own. The surgeon I've decided on for this procedure is Dr. Sidhbh Gallagher , who operates in Miami, Florida. The cost of the surgery itself is $10,250 (the goal is set at 13k due to GoFundMe fees). I would be spending 5 days in Miami to recover before it is safe for me to fly back home and recover for the remaining time required. Any extra money would go towards costs like plane tickets, hotel rooms, transportation to the surgeon, etc. Any help is very much appreciated!
