In November, my chihuahua Tootsie was seen for a small bump on her nose. Doc said the only way to know what it is for certain is to have it removed and tested.
It had grown and changed since then and was removed on March 15th and sent in for testing. I would have had it removed sooner but we were in financial crisis due to unexpected divorce.
Unfortunately, testing confirmed her tumor was malignant. It is low-grade, but due to the less than ideal spot on her nose, it was difficult for our primary vet to get the best margins during surgery, he did the best he could. He said cancer will "probably recur in that area."
We have been referred to an oncologist and our first appointment is on April 1st. We know there will need to be further testing to see if there are any cancer cells remaining. If anything else needs to be removed, it will need to be done by specialists and potential plastic surgeons.
I have no idea what this will all cost and want to get started now so we can 100% provide everything she needs in care, she deserves the very best.
