Retooling The Wood Joint

Tax deductible
Hi there to all of our Wood Joint students and supporters. I thank you all for your support, understanding and patience as we have been figuring out our next chapter. I thank you in advance for your generous contribution to reopen our school. That means so much to me and any size donation will help make an impact,
Bruce

As many of you know, we lost our location in December '21 as well as almost all of our machinery and tools. Having just about crawled our way back out of Covid, this was a devastating turn of events. We had been there for 6 years! One of the outcomes of Covid has been a significant hike in the cost of rents and we could not find an affordable alternative space. Especially disheartening was the loss of our tools and machinery.

At the end of January, a wonderful thing happened: Through the generosity of Mr. Robert Rizas of Neptune, we now have a new location and are eager to welcome you all back very soon. I am sure you are all more than ready and hopefully as excited as ever to begin learning and building again. We can't wait!

We have set up this gofundme campaign to ask for your help to purchase the re-tooling and replacement of machinery and equipment we need to relocate our woodworking school.

Your donation will help us purchase machinery such as Table saws, Band saws, Lathes, Benches, Sanders, Drills, and so much more that is needed to provide this creative, educational, and safe community resource.

  • Our mission is to provide a space to sustain the time honored craft of woodworking and furniture design, and to make that learning opportunity available and accessible to as many members of the community that we can reach.

As many of you know, the Wood Joint Woodworking School is a place of teaching, learning, building, evolvement, socialization, community, mentorship, fun, and creativity. It is a place where both young and old gather, where youth expand and explore potential career options, where women find a place historically not open to them, where adults, older adults, and seniors find new purpose and activity, and where the elders and masters pass on the wisdom of their legacy.

At the helm is our Founder Bruce Hogan, a Master Craftsman and a passionate and patient teacher whose life's purpose is to give everyone the gift of learning how to build, create, and transform through the art and craft of woodworking. He is the heart and soul of The Wood Joint.

For those of you who are new to The Wood Joint, you too will come to love this hands-on experiential woodshop. We welcome everyone and cherish the feeling of shared interest in woodworking and creativity. It is truly amazing to see the transformation of both wood and student in this creative and skill building experience.

We thank you so much for your support and are so very grateful for every donation.

We will continue to update you all on our progress and as always on our Website, Facebook and Instagram pages.
