Tony’s Epilepsy Service Dog Fund
Donation protected
Hello everyone! I’ve set up a go fund account to try to help my nephew and his family. The following is from his wife to share their story…My name is Jamie. I am writing this on behalf of my husband Tony Esparza, this is way out of our comfort zone but we could use any and all help we could get. If you have the privilege of knowing Tony, you know how hard working and dedicated he is to taking care of his family and everyone in need. He is the most kind, loving and attentive father and husband we could have ever asked for. Some people may know but most may not, Tony has epilepsy and this year has really hit our family hard. He suffers from grandmal seizures, and occasionally partial seizures. He is also diabetic and we recently found out he suffers from sleep apnea. Tony most usually pushes himself so hard to return back to work as soon as possible after his seizures but this year has been different. Tonys health has really been affected this year, he unfortunately has had to miss a lot of work due to suffering severe injuries during his seizures. His last seizure has left him with intense migraines almost daily and a painful hematoma on his head. Tony is not the type to ever ask for help or put his personal business out in the open so this is very difficult for us to discuss but we could use everyone’s help! We applied for a service dog for Tony who would be trained to detect his seizures, if he sugar levels are either high or low, as well as many other medical alerts to help protect tony from injuries and most importantly keep his life safe. When we applied we were told it could take a minimum of 2 years on the wait list to be approved for a service dog. We have been beyond blessed to receive a call in just two short months after applying. By the grace of god, they have a fully trained medical and seizure alert dog ready to come home with us and become Tony’s “furever” sidekick! We would have to travel to Kansas for our training classes which begin on October 16th! As most know service dogs are very expensive. Most commonly around 30K, we have been blessed with an amazing foundation that is only charging us $7000 for Tony’s service dog. We are reaching out to see if anyone would be willing to donate to help towards our goal, as we have to pay for our travel and stay for the training classes as well. This year has really been financially, physically, and mentally rough for my husband but I’m praying so hard for a way to make this happen for him. He is so selfless and giving to everyone in their time of need, I couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of this amazing blessing! We appreciate any and all help we could possibly get at this time. We understand times are hard for everyone right now, so even if you aren’t able to donate we ask that you simply share our story in hopes of raising anything to help us along our way to our new family member! God is so good and in him I know we will remain strong on our journey to a healthy life for my precious husband! We appreciate all help and prayers sent our way. Thank you all for taking the time to read my husbands story
