Tony's Stage 4 Inoperable Cancer

Donation protected

Help me live to be a devoted husband and father for my treasured family for many more years to come!

Hi, my name is Tony. I am married to Jody and we have a sweet little 4 year old boy, Sergei, who rocks an extra chromosome (Trisomy 21) and really needs my care. But I have recently been diagnosed with inoperable Stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) and I don't have the funds to seek the treatment I need.

I really need your generous financial support, so I can pursue immunotherapy treatment in Japan.  The treatment will help me to live to love, support and protect my 4 year old son Sergei and my much loved wife, Jody, for many more years to come!

My son, Sergei, is yet to walk and talk, and requires my care to live a fully engaged life. And, my wife needs my love and support to help raise our sweet wee boy to be the best he can with the challenges he has. These are my key motivations to pursue treatment. Unfortunately, the financial cost of my son's early intervention, which is required for his development, has left my wife and I financially spent with little finances to draw on for treatment of my cancer.

I was diagnosed through a routine general health check-up, and the results came as a huge shock. Cholangiocarcinoma is rare and there is no treatment in Australia offering a successful cure. However, NK cell-based Autologous Immune Enhancement Therapy (AIET), which is available out of clinics in Japan, has proven success in advanced cancer of this type.  My hepatobiliary surgeon has advised that for any chance of a successful cure, I need to access AIET treatment as soon as possible.

I have been accepted for treatment in an AIET program in Japan. This leaves me feeling excited and optimistic and with a real chance of survival, but only if I can find the financial resources to fund it. Each course of AIET costs approx. AU$25,000 (exchange rate variable). Up to three courses may be required (approx AU$75,000) depending on my individual response to the treatment. In addition, I will require funds to cover the cost of flights and accommodation. Funds will also go towards interim supportive treatments that I am currently undergoing here in Australia to help support my immune system and give me the best chance of success.

Funds raised will allow me to travel overseas to receive what we hope, will be treatment that will enable me to live a long healthy life, so that I can be around for many years to come.

Please open your heart and give generously for the sake of my sweet son, so that I can live to love and care for him and hold his hand through the many challenges he faces.

Please help my dad because he loves and cares for me, and I adore him! xx Sergei (otherwise known as gorgeous and handsome by his mum, and sweet wee boy by his dad!)

P.S. Incidently, Sergei was named after the kindness of a stranger we met on our travels prior to his birth whom touched us both deeply.

Warm thanks and appreciation for any generosity given.

Further information:
- Cholangiocarcinoma is largely asymptomatic until well-advanced and for this reason tends to be inoperable.

-  AIET is personalised immunotherapy, and enhances an individual's immune system to recognise and target the cancer cells that are unique to them.

-  Unlike chemotherapy, radiation and drug based treatment, AIET has no side effects and does not increase the risk of developing further cancers down the track.

-  My hepatobiliary surgeon put me in contact with an Australia-based patient who recently accessed AIET treatment in Japan and is now CANCER FREE.
The surgeon described the cancer as having "literally melted away" to leave nothing but healthy regenerated tissue. The surgeon had seen nothing like it in patients treated with conventional approaches.

-  Chemotherapy is not an effective treatment option. Chemotherapy has been approved for Cholangiocarcinoma in Australia only in the last two years and is offered only palliatively, extending life by an average of only 3 months, which is achieved by only 30% of patients.
