Tony G's Fight against Colon Cancer

Hello my name is Anthony Gonzalez but everyone knows me as "Tony G"! I am a husband and a dad of 3 girls. It was on July 9th '15 when my entire world was flipped up side down. I found out I had stage 2 colorectal cancer. From that day on I received chemotherapy and radiation treatment until January 6th '16. That day was the big surgery day for my stoma placement. It was a 16 long hours that was a successful outcome. As the year went on I continued prevention chemo and made 1 yr cancer free on January 6th '17. On February 18th of '17 My family decided to throw me a "Blue Bash" that was a combination of my birthday (Feb.9th) and being 1 yr healthy of the cancer. Unfortunately I never made it to my party that day. Instead I was on my way to the E.r with complaints of pain in my lower back. That is when I was informed of having "hot spots" in my back. I was then put on a new chemo treatment for bone cancer. The month passed on and on March 31st '17 I was back in the E.r with pains to my stoma and I wasn't passing anything. They told I had a blockage. I was given a contrast and things were flowing. Now here we are in July on the 5th '17 I underwent surgery again for another bowl blockage. They performed a bowel obstruction. I came out of surgery stapled up with 15+ staples. For 2 weeks I stood in the hospital for recovery and they were monitoring me. On Friday July 14th I was sent home and was back at the E.r on Sunday the the 16th because my dressing was leaking fluid and blood. During this stay is when they said I had an infection in my staples. The doctor decided to open a couple staples and "look inside". They found a huge wound under all my staples and said things weren't looking too good. I was then told I had stage 4 stomach cancer. After all the while of all the scan and test and xrays, not once was mentioned to me of ever having any type of stomach cancer. As the week went on they found a tear in my intestines that was letting my bowels seep through the incision instead of going through the stoma. I was then told on Thursday the 20th that the cancer was now spreading to my lungs, back and bones. And the drainage from the wound was leaking inside me. Myself and my family were now facing the most difficult time for anyone to imagine. Having to make a decision of receiving meds from the hospital and stay there or be in my own home to be comfortable of letting go. I'm now hanging on hoping for a miracle. All my family and I can do now is just pray and ask for peace and strength for when it's my time to leave. For when the time does come I asked my family for a proper viewing and them to cremate me. With all this being unexpected and just thinking I was going into a simple surgery left my family in great despire and in need of help to give me a proper cremation service.
