Tony Alati Community Park Memorial Fund

Donation protected

Together, we would like to celebrate his passion, dedication and spirit by honouring him with a memorial within his community parkette – a park which he fervently worked to commemorate its history.

Although we have reached our goal, we are still accepting donations.

This will allow us to honour Tony in different ways within his community.

Tony was vibrant, passionate, devoted, loving, funny, charming, magnetic, and unforgettable. Everyone knew when he was around – his smile was contagious, his voice simply resonated, and his energy was infectious!

Tony had many, many friends whom he and his wife loved to entertain, sharing his signature drink – Jack Daniels and Coke. Together with his wife and beautiful daughter, Tony seized his love for travelling and was always open to trying something new – even bobsledding! He will always be known for his famous excel spreadsheets and colour-coded calendars.

Throughout his career as a CPP, his keen knowledge, experience and extensive network, made positive impacts with all companies he worked with, from Bombardier and Nestle to Apotex.

He was a true sports fan! Anyone around him knew of his passion for the Philadelphia Flyers, the Dallas Cowboys, the Toronto FC, the Ferrari Formula 1, and most of all, for baseball. His involvement with the Vaughan World Series Slo-Pitch Baseball League, as a player for the Hornets and the Orioles, and as Vice President of the VWSSL where he helped coordinate 46 plus baseball teams, illustrated the level of passion and commitment Tony embodied.

Tony was a community leader and driving force behind many positive community initiatives. He was one of the founding forces behind the Carrying Place Ratepayers Association and an active parent on both the St. Gabriel Catholic School Council and the Father Bressani Parent Council. He was a selfless volunteer, working tirelessly and passionately advocating for everything good and positive for his community. He was a strong advocate for maintaining and preserving the natural environment, particularly in his Carrying Place community. He was a vocal citizen, a dedicated resident, always taking up the challenge to maintain and display his community pride – fighting against condo developments that would challenge the Carrying Place landscape, pushing for proper traffic enforcement and developing connections with our local police to help keep out community safe. His energy and boundless community pride were unwavering! He exemplified true pride in his community, and will always be remembered for his passion and commitment to helping others.

Above all, Tony was the proudest papa to the light of his life – his daughter Arianna. They were BEST friends! He coached her soccer team, guiding them to several championships. They danced together, went on food adventures together and loved watching TFC and Flyers games together. As father and daughter, they were inseparable.

He was very proud of his family, his garden, his baseball team, and his community. And, together, we would like to celebrate his passion, dedication and spirit by honouring him with a memorial within his community parkette – a park which he fervently worked to commemorate its history.
