Tonsil Surgery For Josie Perry

Josie Perry works for Americorps CityYear. She is a friend and close colleague, and spends 11 hours each day working at a middle school on the east side of San Jose with students.
For the last two years, Josie has spent time in and out of hospitals for sudden and severe throat infections which leave her stuck in bed for days at a time.
After literally dozens of unfruitful visits to the doctors and countless rounds of antibiotics, she was finally able to see an ENT (Ear/Nose/Throat) Doctor who diagnosed her as having malfunctioning tonsils which become easily infected resulting in Josie's inability to speak, eat, swallow, or even sometimes get out of bed. She is in danger of being terminated froavm her position with Americorps for missing too many days of wareork.
At CityYear, we work off of a stipend which averages out to less than $5/hr. She has an appointment scheduled to have her tonsils removed in mid-April, but simply cannot afford the procedure, which will cost her over $2000 out of pocket.
Against her will, I created this GoFundMe to try to raise the funds for Josie's Tonsil Removal, which will finally bring an end to her pain and misery and constant wondering what is wrong with her. Please give whatever you can. If 80 people gave $25 we would be finshed.
