Toni&Clark's recovery from Harvey.

We all know the tremendous damage Harvey brought to Southeast Texas. I currently live in northern MN, so watching the devastation of my home area was extremely painful for me. Many people are struggling and have to rebuild their lives after record flooding destroyed the area. Included in that mix are Clark and Toni (Mayfield) Huehnerfuss, my uncle and aunt. I decided to start this page in order to directly help out the people I love, since I cannot be there physically to help with this process for the long haul.

Clark and Toni live in Atascocita, Texas, which runs along Lake Houston and the San Jacinto river. They worked hard to keep their home, but the water still came in. They ended up with a significant amount of water, and Clark had to be rescued by boat in the night.  Toni and their dog had evacuated before the storm to Central Texas.

Clark has a TBI and cardiovascular health issues, as well mobility issues after a major car accident years ago. Toni  has Crohne's disease, and MS. Their income is limited by their health issues, and Clark's job is not consistent.  To add insult in injury, their 14 year old dachshund had to be put down when the strain of the evacuation proved to be too much for her. 

Their home was not in a flood plain, so there was no reason for them to have flood insurance.  With their physical health issues and limited financial resources, rebuiliding the entire main floor of their home is almost impossible...on their own. 

At this point, we are only beginning to estimate the cost of the deconstruction and rebuilding. As details emerge, we will update this site.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
