"My name is Kaitlin Christopher and I am 15 and I am born & raised in Waller, Texas.  I have a loving family that I am so thankful to have.  The last 2 years have been extremely hard for me…Last summer, my father passed away due to a second lung transplant surgery.  A month before that my 31 yr old brother distanced himself from our lives and I miss him terribly.  Seven months after my Dad died, his Dad (my Papa) left this world of his own will.  While we were at my Papa’s viewing, we got word that my Dad’s best friend, “Uncle Jeff,” who was diagnosed with Leukemia just 4 months earlier had also passed away.  Uncle Jeff helped me on our farm and came to my volleyball games, he even took me deer hunting like my Dad did.  Then 2 weeks after Papa & Uncle Jeff, my cousin took his life too.  It all happened so close together that we could barely grieve for each person before we had to endure another loss.

Mom and I leaned on each other and tried to be strong and to find hope and honor my Dad any and every way we could.  Just as we were starting to find some happiness again, we found out this past month that my Mom’s cancer has come back.  So life has been tough, but I’m tougher and me and my Mom are in the fight together.  I thank God for my blessings, and I am hoping this year turns out better than the last.  My mom didn’t want a Go Fund Me but I know that she is having trouble getting her insurance to let her get the treatment she needs. Please help me see that my Mom gets the best medical attention available."
- Kaitlin Christopher – Age 15

After beating stage IIA cervical cancer 8 years ago, Toni’s cancer has returned this summer as stage IVB. It has metastasized to her right lung with two nodules and plural effusion. The nature of her cancer recurrence is very rare, and she is potentially facing out of pocket care at MD Anderson. As many of you are aware, this diagnosis came shortly following the one year anniversary of the passing of her beloved husband, Billy. Thus, Toni will brave this round of the cancer fight as a single parent and without her best friend by her side.

Regardless of the hardships Toni has faced and the road that lies ahead, these trials have never been what defined her. Isaiah 61:3 says, “…they will be called Oaks of righteousness, A planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.”  This is who our Toni is. She is a mighty oak who remains faithful, and by doing so, draws others to Christ.

Just as mighty oak trees have primal needs that need to be met to remain strong, Toni and her family will have needs in this season that we would love to help them meet. Established by friends of the family, this fund will be used for medical bills, hospital parking, associated meals, and generally providing care for Toni and Kaitlin throughout the estimated 6-9 months of treatment.

More than your financial support, Toni's family would covet your prayers for complete healing, comfort, strength, peace, and minimal side-effects from treatment. While Toni is reluctant to be on the receiving end of such amazing support, she has been assured that this is simply a fraction of the love she unceasingly gives to others.

On behalf of the family, THANK YOU for your generosity and helping Toni beat cancer for good!
