The Tom Wood House Fire Fund

The village of Harrisville, New Hampshire, is lucky to have Tom Wood at the helm of our tiny post office. Tom doesn't just deliver the mail or sell stamps. He dispenses candy, dog treats, and friendly conversation, and will generously help a stranded driver jump a dead battery or connect a lost animal with its owner. Tom is so much more than a postman. He is a veteran, a neighbor, a friend, and an essential part of the community.

On Sunday night, May 21st, a massive fire destroyed Tom's house in Keene. He, his son, Tom Jr. (shown here), and his tenants are all okay, but Tom lost his beloved cat, Lovie, as well as everything he owns. The house is a total loss.

Until the insurance company can settle the matter in a few months, Tom and his son need to find a new place to stay, pay the insurance deductible,  and also purchase essentials like clothing and a new computer.




Because they do not currently have a place to store donations of food, furniture, etc., a monetary donation would be the most helpful gift during this difficult transition.  Any amount you can  give will help Tom and his son get on their feet as they figure out next steps.

Tom has been incredibly generous to so many of us. Whether you know him through the post office, softball, martial arts, his military service, or as a friend, please consider helping Tom as he recovers from this devastating loss. (You know he would do it for you if he could! ;-)
