UPDATE: Pablo passed away Thursday Night. His family needs the community’s help now more than ever.

As many of you may have heard, two week ago our neighbor, Pablo, was working under  his truck in his driveway on Genoa Avenue in Toms River when it rolled off the ramps and fell on him. He was airlifted to  Jersey Shore Medical Center where he  remains in critical condition on a ventilator at this time.

I only recently found out that Pablo was laid off from his job back in November and only went back to work two weeks before th accident. His wife, Sophia, has been with him at the hospital every day.   They have five children ages 24,  22, 18, 16 and 13. They go to Toms River High School North and Toms River Intermediate North.

Many neighbors have been kind enough to donate gift cards and food for the family.  Pablo had been out of work since November and only returned to work two weeks before the accident and Sophia is unable to work at this time since she spends every day at the hospital by his side. They are now starting to experience financial difficulties.  The gas company came yesterday to shut off the gas in their home and an attempt was made to repossess the vehicle that Sophia is using to go visit her husband every day.

Any help from our neighbors would be appreciated.  It’s still going to be quite a while before Pablo fully recovers and is able to get back on his feet and back to work. Thank you. Let’s show our neighbors what the real meaning behind “Toms River Strong” is.
