We are a small team from the Scottish Ambulance Service control room in the East. We have recently had the news that the 5yr old nephew of one of our colleagues, who has 20+years service, has been diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia and has a 3yr gruelling treatment regime ahead of him back home in Northern Ireland.
This is where we come in! We want to help support our colleague Gillian, and the family as much as we can! We are calling ourselves Tommy’s Tartan Army and we are going to be Tommy’s support from across the pond!
On 31st August, we are doing a sponsored walk across the Forth Road Bridge, and will also be hosting a dress down day across the ambulance control rooms, where I hope as many people as possible will show up in Tommy’s favourite colour, blue.
We hope to be able to provide a little financial aid to Tommy, his big brother Ben and his mum & dad Kathryn & Lee, through this difficult time and hope you will support us by giving anything at all.
Thank you for reading, we hope you will help us out with this special cause, which is affecting one of our own ambulance service family members.
Tommy will FIGHT, Tommy will WIN!!
Tommy’s Tartan Army
