Fulbright Internship in London!!!

Hey everyone!! My name is Tom Carter and I am a first-year graduate student at Syracuse University studying international higher education. I was recently offered a US-UK Fulbright Commision Internship in London for this summer and, although it is unpaid, I could not resist the opportunity to accept the position. As I now begin to navigate the financial logistics of affording living expenses for a summer abroad, I look to you for help. This campaign is aimed at helping to support the costs of airfare, lodging, and living expenses throughout my stay in London. None of the proceeds will be used on entertainment or other functions and any remaining funds will be donated to the Fulbright Commission.

About The Position:
In working closely with the staff, I will be engaging in a wide range of professional activities including but not limited to assisting prospective students with questions about US study, representing Fulbright at schools and universities, helping plan student seminars on studying abroad, and assisting the Communications Officer with promotional campaigns and press releases. All in all, the program is a great way to gain valuable hands-on experience in student advising, events management, and communications/marketing. Through living in London, I will also experience first-hand differences in culture and educational systems between the US and UK.

I look to this internship as a way to jump start my career in giving back to the world and establishing a lifetime of commitment to the pursuit of peace through communal understanding. Through international education we foster greater understanding of cultural differences and international relations. We teach the leaders of tomorrow to celebrate differences and understand one another in efforts to bring about greater cooperation, collaboration, and peace. These are the tenets of the Fulbright Commission and the ones that I've devoted my life to as well.
