The Miraculous Story of Tomas

This purpose of this page is to raise money for our wonderful friend, Tomas Pardo.


During the month of June, Tomas was experiencing pain in the upper left portion of his chest and was very ill. He went to the ER in the beginning of July and it was discovered that he had a life-threatening infection that was destroying the inside of his body. The doctors told him had he waited another day he would not have survived.


The outlook was very grim and he was given low odds of surviving. After an initial surgery he was placed in a medication induced coma while doctors diligently worked to identify the bacteria that was in his body. Tomas had many, many people praying for him and the LORD answered our prayers. Against all odds, God spared his life. Over time the doctors were able to identify the cause of the infection and developed a treatment plan. He has now been in the hospital for over a month and will be for a little while longer. The doctors are confident that they have the infection under control and that the outlook for Tomas is good. PRAISE GOD! He will, however, require extensive care in the coming months.

Tomas is now awake and slowly easing his body back to normal function.  Please pray that he starts getting his appetite back and that no other bacteria invades his body.  He is weak but is noticably getting stronger each day.  We can pray that his strength will continue to return as he is now able to breathe on his own.  He is doing physical therapy each day which will accelerate his healing as well.  Tomas is also undergoing dialysis a few times a week. This is an improvement but we are praying for full restoration of his kidneys. The best therapy he receives is being uplifted in prayer along with all the many friends that have come to visit him.  It's no surprise to his friends and family that he is the one encouraging his visitors with Scripture and praising God for all He has done.  Tomas is a faithful, Godly man who loves his family and friends dearly and is anxious to give God all the glory for the path that He's taken him on.  He is urging all of us to trust God, and God alone, to sustain us no matter what the circumstances.

Tomas has a long road of recovery ahead of him because of the damage that was done to his body by the infection. First and foremost, prayers are needed for a complete recovery. In addition, this ordeal has been a major setback financially for Tomas, his wife, Flor, and their young daughter, Abigail. The medical bills and expenses have been mounting since he entered the hospital a month ago. If you feel led and are able to donate even the smallest amount to him during this time of recovery, it would be so appreciated. What a blessing it is for us to be the hands and feet of Jesus to his family as he recovers from this ordeal!
