Tom's Ride For Victory TC
Tax deductible
On September 7th I am riding from Oswego NY to Ithaca NY to benefit the Victory Transformation Center in Oswego. It’s an 81 mile ride which is the longest distance that I have ever done in a day. I’m doing it to support Daun Whittaker and the wonderful work that she and her husband are doing for the homeless and disenfranchised people of Oswego County.
Donna and I first met her seven years ago when she was the executive director of the Mental Health Association of Northern New York. When our family was in crisis and Donna wasn’t sure who to turn to, she very fortunately connected with Daun. I can’t say enough for what Daun’s counseling, wisdom and patience meant to us. We became volunteers at Mental Health Association and in 2011 we were named as the Community Members of the Year. We followed Daun to the Victory Transformation Center that she founded. We stayed in touch and donating needed items over the years. We have witnessed the huge difference that VTC makes every day to people that have nowhere else to turn. There have been many success stories with people returning to a normal productive life and even becoming a house manager for VTC.
Please consider donating to my ride, my goal is to raise $500 for this most worthwhile cause.
