Tom Teeters Battle with Stage IV Glioblastoma

On October 31, our family received devastating news that Tom Teeters, our perfectly healthy dad, father-in-law, grandpa, and husband was diagnosed with Stage IV Glioblastoma. He will start treatment soon to do everything he can to stall the cancer progression. While not curable, we are praying the treatment will shrink the tumor and prevent further growth.

As a lot of people already know, we have been on a month-long journey to get to this point. Saturday, October 5, started out like any other day, but ended up with Tom being rushed to the ER. While at the ER, he had a seizure and they intubated him in preparation for his ambulance ride down to Marshfield, WI. Over the course of 5 days in Marshfield, the doctors ultimately came to the conclusion that he had some sort of a tumor in his brain, but the MRI didn’t give a clear picture. A week and a half later, he was back in Marshfield for another MRI and at the conclusion of the MRI, he was scheduled for a brain biopsy two days later.

This past week we received the news that this is Stage IV Glioblastoma. His initial treatment plan consists of radiation and chemotherapy but this must be administered at a center an hour away. To help ease the financial burden during this time, we have set up a Go Fund Me account for our friends and family who would like to help by making a donation. All donations will go towards any unexpected medical bills and all related expenses.

Please keep Tom and the entire Teeters family in your prayers.
