Tom Denman's family help

4 years ago I was wanting to put together a tournament fund raiser for our local vets. (Very first time running a tournament) After going to the villages other VFW halls not one person was interested. Untill I spoke with Tom Denman. He said this is great! And then "what who were when how ECT." I knew I found my guy to put The Veterans Appreciation Fishing outing with. I get the boaters he gets the VETERANS. Any problems we had we would blast right through them to make this happen. Today I lost my "guy". It's was right at the end of today's event. With only a few of us left cleaning up the final walk. Today he won some great stuff. Everything he won he gave to another Vet. And he knew what their taste was. Man I am at a lost for words. So the name of our event from now on will be called. "In honor of Tom Denman Veteran Fishing." We loved this event every year as many of you do to. So I will carry on his love of this in his name. Every year!! I am pretty sure I will find a wing man for it next year. But if not I will do it solo. Eitherway you will be missed by so many including the fishing community. But this tournament will be here for a long time. I wish you were here talking about next year already. I didn't know Tom for long. But you couldn't help to make friends with such a loving, giving, caring man. He went out serving our country. Taking care of the homeless Vet's of IL. today. He was doing what he loved to do.
