Tom Childers Fight Against Cancer

Tom Childers needs our help. As many of you may or may not know Tom has been battling Lung cancer since February 2016 and the cancer has spread rapidly. To say that Tom is a sports fan is an understatment. Regardless if Tom were coaching youth athletics in Dunkirk, cheering on high school sports, or his beloved Cincinnati reds, he was all in. Like all great conquests, Tom has entered his 4th quarter, and we all need to pull together now so that Tom may play on, and with great hope, be incredibly comfortable in an overtime session or two. Someone once asked what is the key to successsful fund raising, well there is no secret, people give because they can, and more importantly, they want to help. Tom needs our help now, and I ask that everyone step up to the plate and be as generous as you can. Additionally, now is the time to call, text, or drop in and visit Tom, share a funny story or two, and celebrate Tom's journey to date...a huge smile is on my face as I type this and recollect the stories of Indiana Glass...fights, highly inappropriate work relationships, strikes, but more importantly, the sense of family of the Indiana Glass team, which carried on at Reflective Industries, and Tom's ability to mentor and job train a whole new generation of folks in old school good work ethic ways! Hearing Tom's nephew share stories of highly competitive youth league football games, games of chance, or my own experience in facing Tom in cornhole, you don't play to lose, you only play to win...let's all pitch in to help Tom win the dignity and quality of days that remain, and with great hope, I'm sure we've got multiple overtime sessions in front of us...game on Tom, game on! We've got your back and are happy to be on your team!!!
