Hello. My name is Sara Kelly and I am a Certified Nurse Midwife who is lucky to work for a wonderful non-profit in Toledo, OH called Compassion Health.

You've likely never heard of us, and for a very good reason : we are not social media viral and do not work for profit. We cherish our time in the surrounding neighborhoods, libraries, schools and fundraisers. We host classes and invite talented members from Toledo to share their wisdom and guidance with our patients. We cook meals and sit with people in their homes. We visit with each patient during their appointments and carry their stories home with us each night and are reminded of those stories every morning while we make our way back to do the work we believe our faith has called us to do.

We are lucky to provide gentle, compassionate, and patient-centered care tailored to the individual and family despite ability to pay or cultural differences and spiritual affiliation. Despite socioeconomic hardships and education level, we care. Despite age, gender identity, sexual orientation and complexity of health, we keep our doors open, welcoming all into the warm waiting rooms like a lingering hug.

Our patients are resilient. This community is resilient.

Seven years ago Dr Anne Ruch opened up our very first clinic in an old library. We just opened our second little clinic this year, also in an old library , which now houses a pharmacy. We hope to continue our mission and are asking for donations to aid this effort. Our doors and hearts are open to thousands each year who will benefit from any monetary amount.

As Dr Ruch so eloquently states " We hope you might consider becoming a vital part of His work here, helping us serve as His hands and feet in our community."
