Toki Underground Employee Relief Fund

Hello Generous Friends of Toki Underground,

We just wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude for your support of our business over the past nine years. As we approach our 9th anniversary on April 1st, we are met with a time of deep reflection and anxiety over the current state of the industry. As you can imagine, our business is being drastically effected by the Covid virus and the economic effects of a government mandated shutdown of our in-house business. Our first concern is that of our tremendous employees. We are doing everything in our power to keep them on payroll, however we do not know what the next phase of the administrative response will be, nor do we know how long this shutdown will last. We are reaching out to ask for your support for an amazing crew of dedicated staff who still have bills and rent to pay, kids to feed, I could go on and on, but you get the picture. Again, we aren't ones to solicit your pocket change lightly, but these are strange times, indeed.

Consider giving a few bucks, of which 100% will go directly to our staff. Think of it as a tip on future service. We've a few bucks on something ridiculous in the past. But now's your chance to spend five or ten bucks where it really counts. Helping out the service workers who provide a vital role in your daily life. I'm reminded of the times that Iruka Sensei would buy Naruto Uzumaki steaming bowls of ramen at Ichiraku  in his early adolescence while he was learning life lessons and developing into a powerful Shinobi (ninja). It could have gone either way with Naruto, you see. Those subtle acts of kindness, one could argue, were some of the defining moments in young Naruto's life which perhaps shaped and prepared him to ascend his role as the future Hokage who would one day lead the Hidden Village of the Leaf to peace and prosperity. Think about that. (If you have no idea what we're talking about, we highly suggest you use your isolation time to get on Hulu and binge Season 1 of Naruto.)

In all seriousness, though, what is ramen if not the sustenance of future kings and presidents? Don't act like you didn't fuel that bachelor's degree in political science at Georgetown with the strands of pure perfection we like to call 'hot noodz'. And look where you are now. Most likely still in Washington D.C., if you're reading this. The power Capitol of the world. And you're doing it. You're making it here. We salute you. But we ask that you salute our staff as well and drop a few bucks in the proverbial hat we are passing around to give our employees the bridge they need while this stupid virus makes the rounds. We are going to be okay. You are going to be okay. But we get by with a little help from our friends, ya know? And we're asking you to throw down a ten spot or so for our peeps. Or order some delivery through Caviar. You'll feel better, trust us. Unless you've already got Coronavirus. In which case, actually... you still might feel better if you eat some chicken noodle soup (we have that).
