Hello everyone! I recently decided to take a gap semester between high school and college and with many possibilites to consider as I think about my future, I'd like to dedicate this time to volunteer and help others. My family has been involved for the past several years with a priest named Father Charles who resides in the state of Chennai, India. He started the Gnana Educational and Charitable Trust which is a non-profit, non-governmental and charitable organization that helps less fortunate children, students and families recieve an education and provide for their basic needs. The main activities of this trust are the construction of new schools, the renovation of current schools, providing water and sanitary facilities for these families, and funding scholarship programs. He has also started orphanages where there are many kids left without families seeking shelter and homes and has also built nursing homes to aid the elderly. I have decided to travel to India to help Father Charles in any way I can but most importantly to visit these children and raise money for their lives as they grow into the beautiful young men and women that they are. My mom has decided to tag along on my trip and we will be leaving November 2nd and returning to the states November 19th (just shy of 3 weeks). With the little time we have before our departure I want to fundraise as much as I can to help fund some costs of our trip along with helping these children and their families. If you even took the time to read this, THANK YOU, and if you are able to make a donation (even if it's as small as $5) it would be GREATLY appreciated.
