School Toilet

I am a founding member of the Abuesi Foundation, a community interest organisation operating in Ghana- Reg. No. CG015630322-Ghana.

 

Abuesi is a fishing community in the Shama district, Western region, Ghana. Many fishing communities in Ghana lack basic sanitation facilities. Due to unavailable toilet facilities in the schools, many teenage girls in Abuesi skip school during their menstrual cycle to avoid embarrassment. The Methodist basic and junior high school has a population size of over 1000 pupils. The pupils often use the beach or the fields around the school to ease themselves.

 

 The Abuesi Foundation is raising money to build an appropriate toilet facility for the school to make teaching and learning enjoyable.

 

All donations will be spent on the toilet facility.
