Together We Can Conquer Cancer for Jim Johns
Donation protected
Dear friends,
To help overcome my battle with Small Cell Cancer, I am needing help from 500 people to donate a minimum of $60 each to my cause. Since my oncologist has informed me that all western traditional therapy has been exhausted and through his urgent suggestion, I must seek additional help through a facility that provides immunotherapy. Regrettably, my insurance company doesn't recognize the full range of treatment available for me to successfully defeat my cancer. Fortunately, I have found a facility in Mexico that provides the treatment that I need. This facility is called CHIPSA (www.chipsahospital.org ) and has been at the forefront of advanced integrative treatments and immunological therapy for 38 years.
Here is my introduction to the scary world of rare small cell cancer.....
As we all know, tragedy can come in all forms in a person's life. For the last 30 years I have been a happy, healthy person who is in love with his wife and two sons. As you know, I have always considered myself a joyful person. I have maintained good healthy exercise and eating habits throughout my life. Moderation has been key in my life. I love life.
In September 2018, I began to have problems with my right leg going numb and my lower back was giving me some discomfort. When the symptoms became apparent I immediately sought medical advice and was eventually diagnosed with a Rare Small Cell Prosate Cancer. This rare cancer effects less than 1% of men and the recovery rate is less than 12%.
Receiving all of the information was overwhelming for our family and a lot to take in and understand.
My family rallied along side me as I began a radiation and chemotherapy program from mid-October 2018 to mid-January 2019. In early February they released me with clear scans. Our family and friends were elated! Although my scans were clear, I never felt quite right, but figured that many weeks of radiation in that area of the body would just take some time to heal. I was slowly moving into my normal life again. In mid-March, the pain in my lower back and numbing in my legs returned. To make matters worse, I began having a serious problem in my scrotum. Unbelievable I thought, "What now?"
The urology scan showed a mass in my right testicle. I was immediately moved into outpatient surgery and the biopsy came back positive for Small Cell Testicular cancer. Following that surgery, it was through a visit to my orthopedic doctor, who ordered an MRI of my lower back. This scan revealed that I have a 6 cm tumor on my L4 and L5 vertebrae and pinching up against my spinal cord causing all of the discomfort. During this investigation, another tumor was discovered on my right hip. Again, I immediately began an aggressive radiation treatment program a few days ago and I have a week left of treatment.
Today, I am reaching out to you as part of my community for financial help. This is so I will be able to enjoy many more years with my beautiful family including my wife Karen and my sons Gabriel and Ezra. The love for my family is overwhelming and I want to do everything possible to over come all of this calamity for the sake of their future. Through this experience, I have realized that after I successfully beat this cancer, I want to dedicate my life working for this cause. I have never been an idle person and I want to continue to serve in the world in a full capacity, physically and spiritually.
If I could climb over this obstacle myself, I would. However, I am in a place where I need to ask for your financial help.
The logistics and timing of getting my treatment is somewhat urgent. My day for admission into the CHIPSA facility is May 20th of this year. I am needing to have approximately $35,000.00 by that day in order to cover that one expense. Regrettably my savings is all but gone due to the initial cost of combating this disease while not being able to work at full capacity. To break this cost down in terms of donations, I am looking for 500 people to contribute a minimum of $60.00.
Thank you for taking the time to consider me and my family's situation and offering your support.
Peace,
Jim Johns
