Together We Are Stronger - Hurricane ETA

Hello everyone!

My name is Alma Ramírez, I was born and raised in Potrerillos, Cortes, Honduras but moved to the US not long ago with my family. However, people back in my community are struggling through not only a pandemic, but also a Hurricane. I have created this fundraiser as a way of ensuring people affected in this crisis have access to all needed resources, such as food and shelter. 

Little Background Info: As some of you may know, Honduras and its neighboring countries have been terribly impacted by Hurricane Eta during the COVID-19. The entire country of Honduras has been flooded, which has caused major problems for its citizens. There has been thousands of victims from this disaster, most have lost their homes and others family members. They have truly lost it all! 

This unfortunate event has pushed me into creating this fundraiser to help my Honduran brothers and sisters through this difficult times. All money donated will be sent directly to local churches in my community of Potrerillos, Cortes. The money will be used for churches to provide shelter and necessities to everyone in my community who has been impacted by Hurricane Eta.

Once the worst of the hurricane has occurred, ongoing fundings will be needed for post-distaster relief support for those who have been affected. Therefore, I ask you all to donate as much as you can because every dollar counts! My community needs help, your help, so please join me in making a change!

And remember, no matter the distance, together we are stronger!

¡Hola a todos!

Mi nombre es Alma Ramírez, nací y crecí en Potrerillos, Cortes, Honduras, pero no hace mucho tuve la oportunidad de mudarme a los Estados Unidos con mi familia. Sin embargo, la gente de mi comunidad está luchando no solo durante una pandemia, sino también durante un huracán. He creado esta recaudación de fondos como una forma de garantizar que las personas afectadas por esta crisis tengan acceso a todos los recursos necesarios, como alimentos y refugio.

Corta información de lo que está sucediendo: Como algunos de ustedes sabrán, Honduras y sus países vecinos han sido terriblemente afectados por el huracán Eta durante la pandemia del COVID-19. Todo el país de Honduras se ha visto inundado, lo cual ha causado grandes problemas a sus ciudadanos. Han habido miles de víctimas por medio de este desastre, la mayoría han perdido sus hogares y otros hasta los miembros de su familia. ¡Realmente lo han perdido todo!

Este desafortunado evento me ha empujado a crear esta recaudación de fondos para ayudar a mis hermanos y hermanas hondureños en tiempos difíciles como este. Todo el dinero donado se enviará directamente a las iglesias locales en mi comunidad de Potrerillos, Cortes. El dinero se utilizará para que las iglesias proporcionen refugio y necesidades a todos los miembros de mi comunidad que hayan sido afectados por el huracán Eta.

Una vez que haya ocurrido lo peor del huracán, se necesitarán fondos continuos para el apoyo de socorro posterior al desastre para aquellos que se han visto terriblemente afectados. Por lo tanto, les pido a todos que donen lo más que puedan ya que ¡cada dólar cuenta! Mi comunidad necesita ayuda, de tu ayuda, ¡así que únete conmigo para realizar un cambio!

Y recuerda, sin importar la distancia, ¡juntos somos más fuertes!
