A couple of days ago, our dear friend Lex suffered a sudden stroke that has changed his life in an instant. While we are incredibly grateful that he is still with us, the road ahead will be long, difficult, and filled with challenges. His recovery will span the coming weeks and months, and during this time he will be unable to work as he focuses on healing and rebuilding his strength.

For decades, Lex has been a pillar of St. John’s and the surrounding communities. A long-standing volunteer, he has quietly and tirelessly given his time to others. In fact, just before his stroke, he was preparing—like he has for more than 30 years—to ensure Santa’s appearance at the annual Santa Claus Parade went off without a hitch. That’s who Lex is: loyal, selfless, always ready with a helping hand or a laugh, always showing up for his community without ever expecting anything in return.

Now, it’s our turn to show up for him.

We’re raising funds to help cover his bills, living expenses, and the unexpected costs that come with a long recovery. By easing even a small part of the financial burden, we can give Lex the comfort and stability he needs to focus fully on what matters most: getting better.
