<div>Hola mi nombre es Angelica Hernandez. El pasado martes 9 de septiembre de 2025, mi hermano Mauricio “Mo” Hernández, destacado periodista zuliano, sufrió un grave episodio cardiaco justo antes de iniciar su programa “Ahora Hablamos” en Urbe 96.3 FM. Con la pasión y el compromiso que siempre lo caracterizan, aun con dolor, se mantuvo en cabina durante una hora hasta que su cuerpo no pudo más.

<div>De inmediato fue trasladado de emergencia al Instituto Regional de Investigación y Estudios de Enfermedades Cardiovasculares “IECTAS” de LUZ para darle los primeros auxilios, se le indico un cateterismo de urgencia y la posible colocación de un stem. Luego fue trasladado a la Clinica Zulia para la realización de dicho estudio, lo que parecía un cateterismo rutinario se transformó en una noticia devastadora: “Mo” necesitaba con urgencia un bypass coronario a corazón abierto. El procedimiento se realizó el sábado 13 de septiembre y, gracias a Dios y a los médicos, él hoy lucha por su recuperación.

<div>“Mo” no es solo mi hermano. Es un profesional de la comunicación social, un periodista deportivo con más de 20 años de trayectoria profesional en los medios zulianos impresos y audiovisuales, redactor que ha acompañado a generaciones desde el diario Panorama, voz líder en la animación del equipo de Baseball las Águilas del Zulia y del equipo de Basketball Brillantes del Zulia, y en las emisoras de radio de nuestra ciudad, actualmente también funge como embajador de una importante cervecería venezolana y es parte del podcast Nadie es Famoso. Es una voz zuliana que ha dado todo por su gente.

<div>Hoy esa voz necesita ser escuchada… y necesita ayuda. Los gastos de hospitalización, insumos médicos y la cirugía son muy elevados, y nuestra familia no puede enfrentarlos sola.

<div>Hello, my name is Angelica Hernandez. On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, my brother, Mauricio "Mo" Hernández, a renowned journalist from Zulia, had a severe heart attack right before he was about to start his program, "Ahora Hablamos," on Urbe 96.3 FM. Despite his pain, he remained in the studio for an hour, true to his characteristic passion and commitment.

<div>He was immediately rushed to the Regional Institute for Research and Studies on Cardiovascular Diseases (IECTAS) at LUZ for emergency treatment. He was scheduled for an emergency catheterization and possible stent placement. However, he was then transferred to the Zulia Clinic for the procedure, which seemed routine but turned into devastating news: Mo urgently needed open-heart coronary bypass surgery. The surgery was performed on Saturday, September 13, and thanks to God and the doctors, he is now fighting to recover.

<div>"Mo" is more than just my brother. He is a social communications professional and sports journalist with over 20 years of experience in Zulia's print and audiovisual media. He is an editor who has guided generations at the Panorama newspaper. He is a leading voice in animating the Águilas del Zulia baseball team and the Brillantes del Zulia basketball team. He has also worked on our city's radio stations. He also currently serves as an ambassador for a major Venezuelan brewery and is part of the Nadie es Famoso podcast. He is a voice for the people of Zulia who has given everything.
