Todds Ultra Run in Support of Kylie Helsley

On Sunday October 20th, 2019 Kylie Helsley was in a serious motorcycle accident that would leave her fighting for her life. The twenty-four year old lab technician is an animal-lover from Germantown, New York with a kind heart. The initial prognosis was grim, Kylie had sustained a significant traumatic brain injury, alongside other severe injuries that took a back burner to controlling neurological damage. Kylie was in a coma for over a month, and fought every day to open her eyes. Once her body had recovered enough, she was transferred on November 4th to Sunnyview, to begin the next part of her journey: rehabilitation. Here she worked diligently to build back her strength both physically and cognitively. Every single day entailed multiple rehabilitative sessions: physical, occupational, and speech therapies. Kylie has returned home, but her journey continues as she strives every day to achieve her goals. This requires Kylie and her family to make the 1 hour each way drive to Sunnyview multiple times a week to attend her therapy sessions that have pushed her progress forward.

This Sunday 04/19/20 starting at 7:00am I will be attempting to run 114 miles in 24hours. I am doing this run to show my support for my brothers wife’s niece Kylie Helsley. The 114 miles will represent 1 kilometer for every day since her accident which on April 20th will have been 183 days ago.
