Todd Engle- Team Bubba

I know most of us know the back story on Todd , but for those who may come across this page and not know- Todd was diagnosed with Leukemia back in  October of 2013.
At that time Todd took leave from school and spent about 5 weeks in the hospital. Corrie, his wife, stayed by his side every day and night doing whatever she could to make him comfortable. Todd completed chemo and in January got a bone marrow transplant from his brother, Roger.  During all of this, his family and friends joined together to organize fundraisers such as a Team Bubba T-shirt sale, a pancake breakfast, spaghetti dinner, and a Team Bubba bank account.

Since that day almost 5 years ago, Todd has battled a second round of cancer, diabetes, cataracts, colitis, many other side effects, and now unfortunately a third round of cancer. He started chemo 2 weeks ago and will do 3 total rounds which has left him no choice other than to quit his job as a teacher, which if you know him was probably one of the hardest decisions he has had to make. Todd loved teaching, but more importantly the kids loved Todd.  Not only is Todd one of the strongest people I know, he remains positive and outgoing through all of this.  When I’m struggling to keep going on a long run or think I can’t possibly do another rep while lifting, I think of Todd.  Thinking of Todd inspires me to keep pushing through because I know he keeps fighting a battle that’s much more difficult.  Corrie, the most selfless person I have ever known, continues to fight right alongside with him, always with a smile on her face.

Corrie and Todd are the poster couple for soulmates and best friends, they redefine what faith, hope, and love truly mean.  This battle has left them with one income, with cancelled family vacations, and the struggle to create a family of their own; together they use their faith to stay positive and enjoy each day they have.  Todd fights knowing this path was chosen for him for a reason and although they do not always understand why, they will someday.

I know everyone has bills and may live on a very strict budget but even donations of $1 can add up.  All I ask is that you give if you can and share this so that others who may be able to can also help.  I am hoping this fund helps offset the cost of his upcoming medical bills but also helps them pay for groceries and a roof to keep over their heads, (maybe even a little getaway when he’s better).  Those who cannot give, I know all Todd would ask of you is to pray for him and send positive thoughts his way.
Thanks to all those who continue to pray for him every day!
