Jerry Todd Donohue medical expenses

My brother, Jerry Todd Donohue was in a horrific accident on September 5th. Todd was doing the butterfly stroke and his forehead hit the concrete wall, knocked his head backwards and broke his neck. He was paralyzed from the neck down. He says he knew he could not move his legs or arms and then passed out as he sunk to the bottom. Fortunately there was a woman in the pool who saw him. She could not lift him but was able to drag him to the shallow end and then she ran for help. The ambulance took him to the Trauma Center and he was in surgery for almost 6 hours. On his fourth day in ICU he began chocking and coughing and the nurse called the trauma team who found a huge blood clot on his neck where he was cut open to adhere the spine. He was in ICU for 8 days with breathing tubes, and a tube to his stomach and unable to speak. once the tubes were removed, he began to cough and spit mucus that has not yet stopped. On the 14th day they moved him to a rehab center, but told him Blue Cross would only pay for 4 days rehab and after that they would evaluate him and if needed request 7 to 10 more days of rehab. After that he leaves but can ask to visit for a daily exercise program. After moving to the rehab center, his coughing has increased and doctors are considering sending him back to the hospital. He faces a long hard road to recovery and his medical expenses grow daily. This is compounded by the stress he feels because he is not able to work. Anything you can give will help as it all adds up.
