Todd Baker Memorial Fund

On the morning of May 21st, 2017 we lost the life of a truly special human being in John 'Todd' Baker. Todd was taken away from us very suddenly and entirely too soon, passing away from a stroke in his sleep at the age of 52.

Todd had spent the previous day helping safely drive his daughter, Chelsea, 10 hours home from her college in Birmingham, Alabama. They had the pleasure of spending the entire day together before joining friends and loved ones for dinner that evening. Todd had returned home that night with no incident but tragically passed away sleeping that evening.

Todd was the most gracious, humble, and fun-loving person many have ever had the pleasure of knowing. His magnetic personality would ignite a room the minute he walked in a while ensuring no person ever went the night without a friendly greeting and a big hug. Being Todd's friend meant more than having his friendship; It meant he would stop his day in a second to be there for you. His dedication to the people he cared for was incredibly powerful, and could be seen through the bursting enjoyment he showed while lending a hand to his friends.

Todd leaves behind two incredible children in Chelsea Michelle and Dakota Jack. For everyone who ever met Todd, they knew the most important things in his life were his two kids. Todd had an endless love for his children, and it was evident in the time and effort he put forward to ensure they could create any life for themselves that they could have ever wanted. Every moment of every day was dedicated to creating love and opportunity for the two joys in his life.

As many of us know, the burdens of life are only multiplied in the days after a loved one is lost. Chelsea and Dakota have been stronger than humanly imaginable in handling these burdens so far, but being upcoming seniors in college and high school, respectively, makes it virtually impossible to navigate everyday life.

These children should be enjoying their youth and these life milestones, but they now have to step into adult shoes and worry about things like the mortgage and utilities, along with the costs associated with school activities and graduation.
While Chelsea and Dakota have been overwhelmed and grateful for the gracious prayers and outpour of love, any donations are greatly appreciated to help these amazing kids deal with the financial burdens left by this tragic loss. Now is the time for us to express the deepest fold of love these kids have ever seen outside of their father.
