Help the McCue Family From Going Homeless

Donation protected

My name is Patrick and I am starting this funding page to save my family from going homeless. We live in Mansfield, Massachusetts and are a family of five with me and my two younger sisters still in school and are scared for what to do as our parents try to assure us it will be okay. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, my family has been struggling to find work and pay the mortgage for our house. My father, Mike McCue, underwent open heart surgery at Tuft’s Medical Center to replace his aortic valve. This is unfortunately also on top of his having multiple sclerosis. He lost his job some time ago and has been unable to secure a new position. With the COVID pandemic and his two severe medical conditions his opportunities are even fewer. His two most promising leads will likely disappear due to the lengthy recovery time from his major surgery. We are also not sure what long-term medical limitations, at least during the pandemic, will affect his future job opportunities.

While we are concerned about the costs of the surgery, more scary is the fact that our mortgage company, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Federal Credit Union, has issued us a foreclosure letter demanding we pay $15,000 by Mayor they will take our house. My father filed what he believed to be the proper federal, state and bank paperwork to allow forbearance during the pandemic. Part of this was the understanding that the missed payments would be added to the end of the loan, but MIT FCU is demanding them now. Should this come to pass, we will have nowhere to live in May.

Any assistance is appreciated and will be sent to the bank to pay down the mortgage overdue.  Given the fundraiser's recent success, we also may use some funds to pay utilities and other basic expenses, as well as creating a safety net for the same. All funds received will be solely dedicated to those necessities.

My father is the sole breadwinner in the house as my mother is on Social Security due to a chronic spine condition. Given the stress my father’s medical condition has caused us and him, the prospect of losing our home is unbearable. We have many pets we took in as strays or abandoned as well that will have to be given up if we don't have a home to care for them in.

My family is not the type to ask for donations and I have not told them I am doing this because they would stop me, but I am scared for what is going to happen to my family with us barely being able to pay basic bills. I will keep this up for as long as I can hoping for a miracle. Thank you for taking the time to read my page and whether you can donate or not thank you for even considering it. I hope that anyone that donates I can return the help in the future.

Disclaimer, the house in the picture is not my home I am nervous to put a picture of my actual house on the internet.
