For the Family of Katie Jane Ackerson

In the evening hours of Wednesday, August 25th, our beautiful soul, Katie Jane Ackerson, departed this earth to her heavenly home. She had just turned 15 years old.  Katie Bug, as she was so lovingly known as by those that love her most, was ever so tragically taken in an unthinkable, horrific and tragic way that it has left the family absolutely devastated and a community heartbroken.   

Katie Bug was loved by everyone who knew her. She was a cherished daughter, the light of her stepdad’s eyes, best friend to her siblings, beloved granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. She was strong-willed, girly, goofy & silly at times, playful with those she loved & trusted and always looking to get a smile from anyone she interacted with.    

Our amazingly sweet and absolutely beautiful Katie  was a student at AlWood High School located in Woodhull, Illinois.  She had just started her high school journey and was excited for the year ahead. 

Katie will always be one of the greatest blessings that has ever blessed her family and they want her story to be about who she was and how she lived her life. 

As you can imagine, with the tragic unexpected passing of Katie, the family is shattered and unprepared.  This is just not something a parent plans for.    Any donation will go directly to the family to help cover the cost of Katie‘s services and her final resting place in hopes of easing the financial concerns and allowing her loved ones to focus on what matters most, honoring their beautiful daughter
