Raymond Hagen, actor/dancer/writer/ has had some very bad times befall upon him.. Some ID theft, some credit theft and some not knowing all the ropes of our bureaucratic times.
Ray is in debt to the tune of 25000. He is 81 years old. I have been trying to help him regain his status as a person. He let is Id lapse. He changed his name from Haagstad to Hagen when he was 17 years old. In those days you could just do that, hell, the federal government issued him the same social security card number in both names. Now he can't get the DC government to give him ID without him getting legal name change which we have set in motion.
Ray needs help. Ray has narrated maybe 1000 books for the Blind and Physically Handicapped program . Ray worked on Broadway in the 50"s and 60's in the shows "West Side Story and "Night Must Fall"and others. He did dozens of cabarets. He sang with the Washington Gay Men's Chorus .
I especially ask the theater and the library community for help.
