To help Lisa Findlay through her journey

Hello, my name is Lisa Beck, me and my friends Denise Hastie and Nikki Stenhouse are setting up this Go Fund Me page for our best friend Lisa Findlay who has been diagnosed with stage 2 Breast Cancer.

We are each going to walk 100 miles in October for Breast Cancer Now. However, the full amount of money we raise will be going directly to Lisa and her family to help them through these difficult times. Between herself and Mark they have 7 children, one of Mark’s son’s Aiden is currently in hospital battling Leukemia.

 

We are hoping this money will help towards everyday expenses, household bills and to to reduce the stress they are going through with both Lisa and Mark unable to work. We feel totally helpless for our friend and are hoping this will help her partner be with her throughout her journey and reduce their worries a little.

 

Below is a part of Lisa’s story so far:

 

Felt a lump in my right breast at the start of 2021, due to circumstances surrounding Aidan and his Acute Myeloid Leukaemia diagnosis in March 2021, I decided in June to go and get it checked. After scans, mammograms etc, I was faced with the devastating news I has stage 2 Breast Cancer. I have never felt so much worry. I had to get an operation for the cancer to be removed from my breast and lymphoids from my arm pit. I was then told I would need Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy and Hormone treatment which in turn meant me having to go into early menopause at the age of 40. I started my Chemotherapy on 15th Sept 21, this is supposed to last 8 weeks, then on to Radiotherapy and then Hormone treatment taking us up to the end of the year hopefully. The mental, devastating, heartbreaking affect this had had on all of us as a family can't even be spoken about it’s just to much to take in. There is a very high possibility of losing my hair completely which has been one of the hardest things to deal with apart from the cancer itself. I am hopeful that once this is over and this horrible cruel disease is gone for good I will be here to see my kids grow up, you just can't put a price on that ❤
