Hi everyone, we are Emarie and Marty, the owners of Straccio Rico. If you aren't familiar with us or our brand, we work with indigenous Wayuu families in Colombia, South America. They weave beautiful, one-of-a-kind bags that are known as Wayuu Mochilas. We work directly with these women to bring their bags outside of their small town in Ríohacha, Colombia and show off their talent to all of you! When you buy a bag, you are supporting a family! You are allowing us to continuously supply a steady income that that they can always count on to feed and support their family each month. Aside, from this fundraiser, 10% of every bag sold is donated directly back to our artisans.
We recently got back from visiting our Wayuu families this past December and saw how much of a difference a few solar panels could do for them. With solar panels they would be able to have power after dark, purify food and water, cook, and perform other tasks we take for granted, even when the sun isn't out. Solar panels can provide our artisans with the power they need to live their daily lives. With solar energy, our artisans will have to worry less about losing power and the possibility of living without some of these essentials.
Anything helps us towards our goal, and we appreciate every penny! We started Straccio Rico to make a difference, and that is exactly what we are striving to do.
