Matt Martin, a beloved 36 year old husband to Julia and father of three children (Avery 5 years, Noah 3 years and Patrick 8 months) was recently diagnosed with a very aggressive form of Lymphoma called Burkitt’s Lymphoma. His story is similar to so many other thousands of young adults diagnosed with serious cancers every year in the United States.
In December of 2014, Matt caught an upper respiratory infection that lead to intense coughing and breathing problems. Matt was an otherwise very healthy, active man. He was a runner, played recreational football, and completed his 3rd half marathon in October of 2014. After several doctor visits, he received an x-ray and then a CT scan that showed a tumor in the lower part of his left lung. Upon biopsy through a procedure called a bronchoscopy, it was determined that he had Burkitt’s Lymphoma, which is very rare and extremely aggressive. The cancer is spreading rapidly, so Matt is undergoing treatment less than 4 days after his final diagnosis. His chemotherapy will be inpatient due to the intensity of the treatment that will be needed to defeat this cancer. 

While this diagnosis is shocking and beyond anything they could have ever imagined, Matt is determined more than ever to beat this cancer. The love of his children, wife, family and friends will carry him through the darkest days.
The Martin Family is going to be faced with uncertain times in the many months ahead. The purpose of this page is to help out with their day to day needs. Whether it be childcare, meals, house cleaning, or anything else that comes up along the way.  Our goal is to alleviate as much stress for the family as possible so that the sole focus can be on Matt and his treatment.
