Please help us raise $3,500 to purchase a car so our Buddhist meditation teacher, Rachel Parrish, can continue traveling to Chicago to provide Dharma teachings at Bodhi Path Buddhist Centers.
Rachel currently divides her time between personal meditation retreat in a small cabin in southwestern Wisconsin and serving as the resident Dharma (Buddhist) Teacher of Bodhi Path Chicago, and also supporting several other Bodhi Path centers in the US and Canada. She makes regular trips from her cabin to Chicago to provide teachings on basic and advanced meditation, Buddhism, mind calming and more. Many of these teachings are broadcast to other centers across the continent.
Recently Rachel’s car conked out and we are trying to raise funds to help her purchase another car.
Rachel is a highly experienced and qualified teacher, having completed two traditional 3-year retreats and an additional 1-year solitary retreat at a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery in France. She has dedicated her life to Dharma teaching and practice – an extraordinary commitment for any one person to make. We are very fortunate to have a teacher with her qualifications and accessibility serving as a teacher for our centers.
In order for her current life arrangement to continue, Rachel needs a way to travel between her retreat cabin and the Chicago Bodhi Path center (and also to get to the grocery store!). She relies solely on her students and the kindness of others for support, which is usually enough… until a car breaks down. So we are asking for your additional help in order for this arrangement to continue.
Your support is not merely a gift for Rachel, but is a gift to anyone who benefits from the teachings she provides at our centers. Please help us continue to maintain the conditions so she can continue providing top-notch meditation instruction in Chicago and beyond.
